Winning Weekend

29th March 2021

Another great weekend to finish off a successful month of racing at Mark Todd Racing.

On the 26th March we had two horses racing, Tasman Bay at Newcastle and Marsden Cross at Lingfield both in the colours of Sir Peter Vela.

In his second start and first start as a 3year old Tasman Bay, romped home in a novice mile at Newcastle beating the 106 rated favourite King Vega in comprehensive style. An exciting start to the season and one small step towards his aim for the Derby in June.

On the same evening, Marsden Cross ran a good race in her first attempt at 10f and ran into two smart fillies in Regent and Ignite. She showed good potential when finishing the race off strongly to run into third place.

The following evening Soyounique also in Sir Peter Vela's colours, in the ownership of Sir Peter Vela, Wayne and Nancy McIlwraith and Todd Racing capped off some reasonably good form by getting his nose in front over 6f at Wolverhampton. He was dropping back in distance as in the past he has tendered to over race and spoil his chances. Hopefully now that he has learnt to get his head in front he may continue to do so.

We have some exciting horses running in the next 10 days starting with My Footsetps on 1st April at Chelmsford. Followed by Rose Fandango, Radiant Light, Kyllinga, Petit Bay and L'Operateur. With the team currently running in such good form we are hoping for some more great results.
