Tasman Bay (2018)

Dam: Purely Priceless by Galileo

Sire: Le Havre

This beautiful well bred colt was purchased by Sir Peter at the Arqana 2019 Yearling Sales. Broken in and turned away at the end of 2019; he has grown into a big, strong colt. He has gone through an early preparation and is a lovely mover with a great temperament; but has been turned away again to mature. We will look to run him towards the end of the 2020 season. With his breeding, he should develop into a stunning 3 year old.

Update: Tasman Bay had an educational run at the end of October 2020 at Newbury on very heavy ground where he finished a creditable 6th out of 14 runners.  He then had a rest before commencing his 2021 season.  This year he has done us proud.  He won at Newcastle over 1 mile at the end of March, and was 3rd at Newbury over 1m2f mid April.  He then went to Newmarket a month later where he was 2nd over 1m2f.  We then targeted him at Royal Ascot where he ran a blinder in heavy going to finish 2nd to Alenquer in the King Edward VII Stakes.  His owner, Sir Peter Vela, flew over from New Zealand for this meeting and thoroughly enjoyed seeing his horse do so well.  July saw us going to Goodwood where he was 3rd to Baaeed over a mile on good to soft ground.  His final outing for the season was to Deauville where he ran yet another very good race to finish 3rd to Dubai Honour.  He is now on a thoroughly deserved holiday.
